Florida in November

Last week Nico & I went to Florida to meet up with Aba. She was staying with my aunt Pila in St. Petersburg while she had surgery and several doctor appointments, and with the cold weather coming in, it was the perfect time to escape.

I was a little bit nervous about my first travel experience solo with a toddler, but Nico (not surprising) was a champ and did fantastically. He slept during most of the flights, and we walked around the airports during our layovers. Denver is a huge airport FULL of those walking bands, and Nico just loved going on and off... so that's what we did for two hours :)
Checking out all the trucks & planes.
While in St. Petersburg we didn't do anything exciting, but it was lovely to see family and Aba enjoyed every second with her grandbaby, I enjoyed the sun and warmth of Florida, and Nico enjoyed playing with my aunt Pila's chickens and getting spoiled by Aba (no surprises there).
Con Aba y las tias.
Playing with his new friend.
Soaking up the sun.
Helping mama pack.
Unfortunately, vacations don't last forever, and after four short days away we had to head home; the same day my mom was headed back to Ecuador. We left a few hours before her, and had a layover in Houston, where we were delayed for seven hours! It wasn't fun, especially with an antsy toddler, but despite the unfortunately circumstance, Nico still did really well (lucky me!). And we got to see Aba again since her layover was also in Houston!
"Hello again!"
Because of the layover we were able to fly directly to Walla Walla (instead of Pasco), and since the flight wasn't full Nico got his own seat - at least for a little bit (while he can, he prefers to travel on mama's lap, and I am not complaining :)
Flying home.
